Cleveland, Ohio Students pursuing secondary education in a field related to agriculture can now apply for the 2023 Homer Unkefer Agriculture Scholarship, according to a Consumers National Bank announcement. The scholarship bears the name of the late Homer Unkefer, who founded Consumers National Bank, served as its director emeritus, and was a steadfast supporter of agriculture in Ohio throughout his life. The Homer Unkefer Agriculture Scholarship was created to help students pay for their higher education so that they can pursue careers in agriculture.
The applicant must be a high school senior currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year college-level agriculture program and a resident of Carroll, Columbiana, Jefferson, Mahoning, Stark, Summit, or Wayne county, or a graduate of a high school in Carroll, Columbiana, Jefferson, Mahoning, Stark, Summit, or Wayne county.

Based on the applicant’s experience in agriculture and compliance with all educational eligibility conditions, one $1,000 scholarship will be given out. Consumers National Bank must receive applications for 2023 by March 31, 2023. Applications for scholarships are available via guidance counselors at nearby high schools as well as at any of Consumers Bank’s 21 branches. Enroll in the homer unkefer agriculture scholarship.
