Snails are a good source of protein and other minerals needed in the body. They are white meat which helps in the development of the body and is highly recommended by health practitioners.
When cooked, dried snails are very sweet. They have a rubber-like texture that makes their chewing satisfying to the consumers.
Steps to process snails for export
You can process snails for export by following nine simple steps:
- Source for the fresh snails.
- Remove the shells.
- Clean the snail meat.
- Season the snails.
- Introduce the snails.
- Allow to dry for some hours.
- Collect the oven-dried snails.
- Package your snails following export standards.
- Deliver your dried snails.

How to package your dried snails for export
Packaging your dried snails or fish for export is a simple process that requires you to follow export requirements for packaging food items.
You are required to package your dried snails in a safe manner that will preserve the freshness of the snails and prevent them snails from getting contaminated.

The dried foods must be packed in a way in which their shape, size, freshness, and color will be retained. It must not be exposed to water or any form of moisture due to carelessness which will affect its freshness.
It must not be badly placed such that it gets cracked or broken which affects its shape and size.
It must not be exposed to rats, Ants, or any Animal attack which will make it unhealthy for consumption.
To package your dried foods like your Snails and fish, you are to get an air-tight tick nylon such as a Ziploc bag. The snails and fish should first be kept in the Ziploc bags or any air-tight nylon.
The next process is to get a clean and tick carton. Seal one end of the carton and arrange the nylon of your dried foods in the carton. Seal up the second end of the carton and proceed to the point of delivery.
