Application for Nirsal Agric Funds (AgroGeoCoop). All smallholder farmers, farmer leaders, and aggregators are being urged by NIRSAL PLC to join its Agro Geo-Cooperative model, which was developed for the goal of enabling sustainable access to financing, high-quality inputs, and organized markets through NIRSAL’s facilitation.
The exercise aims to enroll about 8 million farmers across Nigeria and create 16,000 Agro Geo-Cooperatives (ranging from 10 hectares to 20,001 hectares and above) on 4 million hectares of farmland. Over the medium to long term, it is anticipated that these farmers will produce about 12 million metric tonnes of Grain Product Equivalent (GPE) annually.
We met with the Amodad Poultry Farmers Association in Potiskum LGA of Yobe State to discuss the Economics of Production (EOP) for poultry and to evaluate the group’s farm in accordance with the procedures of the NIRSAL AGC model.
