Men who have BPH, also known as prostate enlargement, have enlarged prostates. BPH is a disorder that affects the prostate gland. It affects older men more frequently than other urinary system diseases.
Numerous BPH symptoms are brought on by incomplete bladder emptying brought on by inadequate urethral emptying and the gradual loss of bladder function caused by urethral blockage.
The severity of the obstruction or the symptoms is not always based on the size of the prostate. Some men with significantly enlarged glands have little obstruction and few symptoms, whereas others with less enlarged glands have more blockage and more issues.
